Terms of Service

Last updated September 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of Tymbis. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you’re using Tymbis on behalf of an organization, you’re agreeing on its behalf too.

1. Who can use Tymbis

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement to use Tymbis. You’re responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your login secure.

2. Events and ticketing

Organizers use Tymbis to list events and sell tickets. Attendees use Tymbis to discover events and buy tickets to them. Ticket prices shown at checkout include the Tymbis platform fee and Paystack’s payment processing fee, so the price you see is the price you pay — no surprises at the end.

Tymbis is a discovery and ticketing platform, not the host of the events listed on it. Organizers are responsible for their own events — the venue, the experience, and anything they’ve promised attendees. Tymbis doesn’t guarantee the quality of any event listed by an organizer, though we do act when something goes wrong.

3. Payments and payouts

When a ticket is sold, the full net amount (after fees) is held on the platform and doesn’t become available to the organizer until the event has ended. This is intentional — it means funds from an event aren’t released before the event actually happens.

Once released, organizers can request a payout to their linked bank account. We may pause payouts for an organization while we’re reviewing a reported issue, a policy violation, or a cancellation, as described below.

4. Cancellations and refunds

Organizers can freely unpublish an event that hasn’t sold any tickets yet. Once an event has at least one paid ticket, it can no longer be simply unpublished — the organizer instead submits a cancellation request, and Tymbis reviews and resolves it with the organizer directly.

Once a cancellation is approved, we refund every ticket holder for that event and the organization’s payouts stay on hold until the review is complete. This exists to make sure a ticket holder is never left out of pocket because an event didn’t happen.

Outside of a cancelled event, refunds are handled case by case — contact us if something’s gone wrong with an order.

5. Communities and conduct

Tymbis includes communities, posts, and connections between users. You’re responsible for what you post and how you engage with others on the platform. We don’t allow:

  • Harassment, hate speech, or threats directed at another person
  • Impersonation, or misrepresenting who you are or what you’re organizing
  • Spam, scams, or fraudulent listings
  • Content that’s illegal or infringes someone else’s rights

We can remove content, suspend an event, or suspend an account that violates these terms. Where money is involved, we’ll try to resolve things fairly for the people affected, including issuing refunds where appropriate.

6. Intellectual property

Tymbis’s branding, design, and platform are ours. Content you post — your events, photos, and posts — stays yours; by posting it, you give us the right to display it on the platform so other people can actually see it.

7. Limitation of liability

Tymbis is provided as-is, while we’re actively building it. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform, or from the conduct of another user or organizer. Nothing here limits our responsibility for money we’re holding on your behalf as described in section 3 and 4.

8. Termination

You can stop using Tymbis and close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Tymbis grows. We’ll update the date at the top of this page, and let you know directly if a change materially affects you.
