Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

This explains what information Tymbis collects, why, and what control you have over it. Tymbis Technologies (“Tymbis,” “we,” “us”) operates the Tymbis platform for discovering events, joining communities, and buying tickets.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and some that’s generated by using the platform.

  • Account information — your name, email address, and phone number if you provide one. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile details Google shares.
  • Profile information — anything you choose to add, like a username, bio, school, interests, or skills.
  • Organizer information — if you host events, we collect your organization name and bank account details, which we use only to send you payouts.
  • Activity on the platform — events you create or attend, communities you join, posts, comments, connection requests, and messages you send within a community.
  • Payment information — we don’t store your card details. Payments are processed by Paystack, and we keep a record of the transaction (amount, reference, status) for your order history.
  • Device and usage information — standard technical data like IP address, browser type, and log activity, collected automatically to keep the platform secure and working properly.

2. How we use this information

  • To operate the platform — accounts, ticketing, communities, and check-in at events.
  • To process payments and send payouts to organizers, through Paystack.
  • To send you order confirmations, receipts, and the notifications you’ve opted into.
  • To keep the platform safe — investigating suspicious activity, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To improve Tymbis based on how it’s actually used.

3. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share information only where it’s necessary to run the platform:

  • Paystack, our payment processor, to process ticket payments and organizer payouts.
  • Event organizers, who can see the name and ticket details of people checking in to their event, so they can run the door.
  • Service providers who help us host the platform and deliver emails, under the same confidentiality expectations we hold ourselves to.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, only when we’re legally required to.

4. Your choices

  • You can hide your profile from search in your account settings — anyone with your direct profile link can still view it.
  • You can turn off notifications for follows, connection requests, comments, and community activity individually.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data by emailing hello@tymbis.com.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Transaction records (orders, payments, refunds) are kept longer, since we need them for financial recordkeeping and to resolve disputes. If you delete your account, we remove what we can and retain only what we’re required to for legal or accounting reasons.

6. Your rights

If you’re in Nigeria, your personal data is protected under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023, and you have rights to access, correct, and request deletion of your data, and to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe those rights haven’t been respected. We aim to resolve concerns directly first — reach us at hello@tymbis.com.

7. Age requirement

Tymbis is not directed at children, and you must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If we learn we’ve collected information from someone younger, we’ll delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

As Tymbis grows, this policy may change. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when it does, and let you know directly if a change is significant.
